In 2026, MASTERPIECES by Daterra celebrates Brazilian education and the people who have chosen to transform it.

The 15 specialty coffees in this edition bear the names of teachers, researchers, school leaders, and thinkers who saw possibilities amid limitations. Educators who made the classroom more than a place for following a prescribed lesson plan; who reimagined the walls, rules, and spaces of the school; who explored paths toward more compassionate relationships and inclusive education; and who brought together different forms of knowledge, languages, and realities so that every student could learn without ceasing to be who they are.

Their journeys are distinct, yet united by a determination to do more and to do things differently. These are people who understood that education is not merely about transmitting knowledge, but about recognizing others, creating opportunities, and providing the conditions each person needs to forge their own path.

The kit is accompanied by a book that presents these stories and draws a parallel between education and coffee. Both require knowledge, care, time, and dedication. Both are shaped by many hands and carry the power to transform people, communities, and futures. Daterra itself is a product of this relationship between coffee farming, education, and research. The excellence, innovation and sustainability that guide our work would not be possible without the knowledge created and shared over time by researchers, teachers, agronomists, and educators.

The inspiration behind this edition takes on even greater significance in 2026, as Todos Pela Educação celebrates two decades of work. Founded on September 6, 2006, this nonpartisan, nonprofit civil society organization works to help develop and implement public policies capable of ensuring quality basic education for every Brazilian. Since its inception, Daterra has maintained a close relationship with the organization, joining forces on initiatives dedicated to education.

On September 7, the day Brazil celebrates its Independence, we open the MASTERPIECES by Daterra 2026 auction. The date was chosen symbolically, because we believe that true freedom is also born through education: through the ability to understand the world, make choices, and take part in transforming it.
